Itty Bitty Ruffly Dress

A friend of mine had a baby a month or so ago, and I made this little dress to give to her at her shower – which was basically a spa night and the best idea ever, seriously. We all got a massage, manicure, and made bath bombs and sugar scrubs. Perhaps my favorite baby shower ever. Since I hadn’t posted about it yet, I figured that KCW would be a good time, considering all I’ve made is Halloween costumes this week – actually I should say Halloween costume since it was only one :). My littlest two are wearing costumes from previous years, which I am more than thrilled about. IMG_4265edit

I had a totally different idea in mind at first, but then when I came across the pink ruffle fabric in my stash I just couldn’t resist making it into a baby dress. I used my free infant peasant dress pattern, and added a bit of length and also left the elastic off of the sleeves.IMG_4266edit

If it looks familiar, it is! I made Lola a very similar dress for her baby blessing, and luckily learned a couple of things that I changed for this time around.IMG_4257edit

I also made this little headband out of fold over elastic, lace, and a strip of the ruffle fabric to go with the dress. The other day my friend sent me the cutest little photo of her baby crying while wearing the dress, lol. Good thing newborns are cute even when crying :). Anyway, that’s it for today, have a great Friday and thanks for reading! IMG_4276edit
