Hi friends! I’m so excited to finally be sharing this version of the new pattern I’ve been working on! I’ve been dreaming of this scalloped bodice dress pattern for months, and it is always so fun to see it come to life!

I clearly have a thing for scallops. I love that they can take a simple design and make it unique.

Scallops are so timeless and classic, but can also easily be made modern – there really is no reason to not love scallops ;).

This was the first full version of the pattern I sewed up, and I wanted to experiment with an invisible zipper. While it worked okay, I would prefer the scallops to be continuous on the back without a seam, so the pattern will most likely have a keyhole and button closure at the top of the back.

The light pink cotton (with gold metallic hearts!) and chambray were both purchased from Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores. After I chose my fabrics, I realized the combo was totally inspired by this lace and chambray Magrath Dress made by Sarah from Lace and Pine. It was one of my favorite tester dresses, and I just loved the pink and chambray together!

I’m planning for the pattern to have knee length and maxi length options, and have been dreaming of an airy pink chiffon maxi length version next. It would be so pretty for a flower girl dress, wouldn’t it?
