Summer PJs for Wyatt

As you know, all week long I’m sharing reviews and other tidbits about some of the 18 patterns included in the Sew Fab ePattern sale (18 patterns from your favorite designers for $24.95!). I really loved making today’s pattern, and am excited to share it with you!

This was the second pattern from peek-a-boo pattern shop that I’ve had the pleasure to sew with. I was super impressed with the skinny jeans I made for Wyatt, which made me excited to try out another one of Amy’s patterns.

Once again, the pattern did not disappoint!

I loved that the Summer PJs were a quick sew and very simple to make. Even a beginner could have these sewn up in no time.

I used two of Joel’s old t-shirts that I’ve had sitting in my refashion pile, and had fun incorporating the graphics into the top and bottoms.

Using two different t-shirts worked great because I could use each for contrast on the other piece to tie the set together.

Let’s talk a bit about the pattern itself…

Amy’s directions are super simple to understand, and I love that she always puts them in a very logical order to minimize your sewing time (not that we should ever want to do that :)).

This is a great pattern to help you get more comfortable sewing with knits. If you are a beginner sewer or you’ve never sewn with knits before, no worries! You’ll learn some techniques that will build your confidence and will carry over to other knit projects that I know you’ll be doing next :).

With both peek-a-boo patterns I’ve sewn, I’ve been especially happy with the fit. It’s nice to not have to worry about short and wide clothing (you know what I mean, right?!). The length of both the top and shorts is perfect, and they’re nice and snug around without being too tight.

The pattern also comes with an option for short sleeves, which I’m sure I’ll try as well at some point. I’m so happy to have another unisex pattern on hand, too. To have a pattern that works for both girls and boys ages 6 months to 8 years is pretty fantastic, isn’t it?

I think it’s pretty clear that Wyatt loves his new jammies! Perfect for all sorts of activities that he should not be doing at bedtime. At least we know they’re comfy :).

And who needs to wait until summer to wear them?! Wyatt’s already been wearing them, and I have to admit I don’t mind – they’re just too cute!

Weston has been begging for a pair of his own, so that’s next on my list. I think I have a few more of Joel’s shirts that I’d love to get my scissors on :).

So there ya go, one more reason why you need the Sew Fab ePattern Bundle, hehe! You can go here to purchase the whole bundle of all 18 patterns (including this Alex & Anna Summer PJs Pattern) for less than $25!

Hurray for new jammies!

  1. I love these pajamas so much! I am going to have to buy the pattern. (sometimes it’s just easier to just let someone else do the hard part.)
