A Couple of Zippered Pouches

I’ve been having fun making zippered pouches over the past little while, and wanted to share a couple with you today that I managed to get photos of before giving away!

Zippered pouches are one of my favorite things to make for gifts. I love that you can use up your favorite fabric scraps, and it’s fun to think about what prints the person you’re making it for would like best. I don’t know how well I do in that department, but hopefully I haven’t been too far off ;). This pouch was made for a sweet little classmate of Weston’s who recently spent more time in the hospital than any little girl should have to.

Dress Up Days by Doohikey Designs is such a darling fabric line, and the little girl reminded me of Weston’s classmate, so it was an easy decision (especially since we live in rainy Seattle where rainboots and umbrellas are the norm for much of the year). The lining fabric is Vintage Modern by Bonnie & Camille.

You can see who put her own socks on (along with her Soleil Dress) the day I decided to sneak some photos of her.

For this pouch, I used Noodlehead’s Zippy Wallet tutorial, although I just winged the size as I was cutting so it’s a bit different than Anna’s instructions.

I used some Geeky Chic from Riley Blake and 2wenty Thr3e from Moda fabrics, along with some leftover bias tape that I had on hand. Such fun fabrics!

The front pocket and snap are such a great detail, and make me want to make 12 more of these!

That’s it for today, thanks for reading! Hope you’re all sewing lots of fun things this week!

  1. These are both so darling. I need to get on the zippered pouch bandwagon, as I keep having pouch envy whenever I see them on someone’s blog!

  2. Ow, they are cute! Zipper pouches are my go-to-gift as well, love making them. The button tab does really make the second one special, really like the look!

  3. I love the zippy wallets. I have made several from Noodleheads pattern. I live out of my own, and I give them as gifts. I have 8 more cut out and ready to put together. They are just so much fun. I think I’ll use snaps on some this time. I’ve been using velcro dots, but the snaps are so cute! Love yours!
