Girl’s Peplum Pattern

Peplum Dress Pattern

As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve been busy working through some of my favorite fabrics and having fun sewing some new clothes for my girls. Today I’m sharing all about the Pretty in Peplum Top and Dress Pattern and a couple of my recent makes with it. It’s my go-to girl’s peplum pattern, and I love how versatile it is depending on the fabrics used.

I’ve shared lots of different versions of this pattern over the years since I released it…

But somehow it’s always feels like a brand new pattern again when I pair it with my most recent favorite fabrics! Add some velvet or suede boots from Old Navy (they always have such cute styles!), and they’re set.

Lola’s wearing the girl’s peplum dress pattern version,

And Hattie’s wearing the 3/4 sleeve girl’s peplum top pattern version.

But since they are close to the same size these days, they’ve both been having fun wearing them! It’s both a blessing and a curse that they can share clothes, haha.

For Lola’s dress, I used a floral cotton lycra from Raspberry Creek Fabrics that they brought back as a fabric of the week not too long ago. And if you think it looks familiar, I also made a Skipper Top with it too! I definitely don’t regret buying lots of it ;). You know I can’t resist a pretty floral!

This girl’s peplum pattern has options for a dress or top with short, 3/4, and long sleeves. I feel like the most recent ones I’ve made have been for chillier months, so it was fun to make a summery dress version with short sleeves.

I opted for 3/4 length sleeves on Hattie’s peplum top, which has been perfect for those in-between weather days.

I found the black and white striped knit from Jo-Ann, and it’s a really great fabric. It has awesome drape but is still very stable and not flimsy. I originally bought it for a skirt for myself, but ended up using some for this shirt a few years ago and it’s been waiting for it’s next project ever since.
