Ruby Lous for Ruby Jane
Several months ago, I received an email from Sharee. She told me she had an idea that she couldn’t shake, and soon I found myself watching this video about Ruby Jane’s story. Ruby Jane passed away from liver failure at only 7 months old, and I cried as I thought of my Lola Bea, who at the time was close to that age.
The Ruby Jane Foundation was created by her parents in memory of sweet Ruby Jane. Their mission is simple, to encourage organ donation. Ruby Jane did not receive the liver transplant that she needed, and her parents wish is that others will sign up to be organ donors so that lives can be saved.

Another important part of this project is that Ani (Ruby Jane’s mom), will be collecting Ruby Lou Dolls to take to the little girls at the hospital where Ruby Jane was. Would you consider making one and sending it to Ani? And if you send me a photo of you with your dolls before you send them off it would make my day :).
You can send your finished dolls here:
This is so great! I have the pattern and I’m going to add this to my list of things to sew. What a great gift for those girls!
Amazing sewing pattern! Thank you for this!

The story of Ruby Jane and her family has touched me so. Our beautiful baby girl joined us just three months ago and we now can not imagine life without her. I’ve purchased the pattern and hope I can successfully make a lovely doll, not only for my own little lady, but perhaps for another sweet angel who could use a bit of comfort and a smile.
These hand made dolls are so much pretty than traditional dolls.
