We Did It! Wednesday

Welcome to We Did It! Wednesday! Random question of the day… What’s all of your opinions on when to put up the Christmas tree? I’m thinking we’ll do ours over the Thanksgiving weekend, but we’ll see. Wyatt was asking for a “real” tree tonight, and Joel said that he’ll only get a real tree if he can cut it down himself (I’m married to a mountain man), so that could prolong the timeline :).

Here’s how We Did It! Wednesday works:
1. Enter a link (specific blog post, not your homepage) using the Linky Tools below to something you made that you want to share. It can be something you sewed, crafted, painted, baked, or anything else you made that you want to share.
2. Try to check out at least one other link on the list (and I’m sure they’d love it if you left a comment too).
3. Post the We Did It! Wednesday button below to your post or sidebar to let others know your participating.

  1. I like real trees. Otherwise I would put mine up before Thanksgiving. :) I’m a Christmas freak. My husband’s not really big on Christmas, so we turned the tree into more of an “us” tradition by cutting ours down. He enjoys tromping around in the mountains and having an excuse to use a saw and I get my tree. It’s a win-win. :)

  2. Ahh, the age old ‘when to set up the Christmas tree’ question! We’d usually set up ours on the 1st, but since we started doing our gift opening on Sinterklaas (dutch gift giving on the 5th of December) I now set up mid-November. (and since I’m Canadian, we don’t have the Thanksgiving conflict ;)

  3. Ha ha! That sounds like Joel. We buy a real tree every year so we do it the first day they have them out which is normally Thanksgiving weekend and sometimes a day are two before that. If we had a fake tree we would probably put it up Nov 1st:) We are Christmas geeks like that. We start listening to Christmas music in July! When we lived in Utah we chopped down our own Christmas tree once and it was really fun. I remember standing in line somewhere in the Park City area to get a tree tag. It was a lot of fun.

  5. Thanks so much for hosting this great linky party!

Speaking of cutting down Christmas trees: When our son was little, he knew we wanted a handcut tree, so, unbeknownst to us, he walked across the road to the neighbor’s woods and brought back a tree! YIKES. They were kind when he apologized, thank goodness.
