DIY Mother’s Day Hoop Art Tutorial
Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and today I’m sharing a DIY Mother’s Day Hoop Art Tutorial that would make a perfect gift to show your mom how much you love her!
I love that hoop art has made a comeback in recent years. It’s so versatile, and can fit into so many decor styles.
This hoop art project let’s you pick an accent fabric that suits your mom, so have fun choosing what you think she’d love the most!
Let’s get to work!
Supplies:
8″ wooden embroidery hoop
1/3yd white 100% cotton fabric – cut 12″x12 square
1/3yd fusible interfacing – cut 11″x11″ square
1/4yd accent fabric
Heat n Bond – 8″x3″ piece
Embroidery floss and needle
Glue gun and glue stick
3/4yd ribbon
Download and print the MOM template HERE
Center interfacing on wrong side of white cotton fabric and follow manufacturer’s instructions to fuse in place.
Follow manufacturer’s instructions to fuse Heat n Bond to wrong side of accent fabric. Cut out template (download link above) and use to trace letters/heart onto Heat n Bond. Cut out letters/heart.
Peel paper from letters/heart and center onto white fabric square. Fuse in place following manufacturer’s instructions.
Open embroidery hoop and center white fabric over inner ring. Place outer ring over top, adjust white fabric as needed, and tighten screw to secure fabric in place.
Use embroidery floss to stitch around each letter/heart as desired. I use all six strands and a running stitch, but you can use whichever stitch you prefer to make it unique!
Use glue gun to secure fabric on back of embroidery hoop, running the glue along the inner ring and pressing fabric in place. Trim excess fabric.
Use glue gun to secure ribbon on outer hoop, trimming to fit.
Now give your mom a big hug and give her this gift that will be a visual reminder of her how much you love her all year long!

O this is awesome! I think I’m going to make one one for my mother-in-law with Nana instead of mom. Thanks for this!
This is adorable!
