Tribal Top (my 264th Seafarer)

Hello! It’s been a little while since I’ve blogged, but things have been busy behind the scenes, and I’ve been sewing some fun things that I hope to share soon! I’m super excited to have our new shop up and running, which has been a long time coming. We even have a new wholesale section, so if you’re interested in wholesale orders of our paper patterns, it can now all be done through the website.

This top is one of the projects that was made months ago, and I never sat down to blog about it until now. Yet another Seafarer Top. I tell ya, this pattern has saved my post-baby wardrobe.

This time I scooped the back hem down to make it hi lo, and once again angled out the side seams to give me extra room around the midsection which I unfortunately still need after having Hattie. And apparently pattern matching at the side seams was not meant to be. Or I was just too lazy. I can’t remember by now…

I found the tribal knit at Jo-Ann (you may recognize it from this dress I made for Lola). I love the great selection of knits they’ve had recently!

I’ve found myself wearing this top at least once a week since I made it, and am sure that won’t be changing any time soon!

  1. Love this top! I have impressed the family by making a couple now. Thanks to your pattern! I was just wondering, you said you made the neckline wider, did you make the neckband longer too? I’d love to make it a tad bit more scooped, for something different too.
