Healthy Honey Poppy Seed Dressing
At the beginning of this year I mentioned I would be sharing more recipes through the year, and today I’m sharing my Healthy Honey Poppy Seed Dressing recipe!
I’ve always struggled to find decent salad dressings that aren’t loaded with sugar and processed ingredients. I’ve avoided most processed sugars for over a year now, and after trying various recipes for homemade dressings and not loving any of them, I came up with this super simple one that uses just five basic ingredients!
I like to be able to quickly whip up some new dressing when I need it, without the worry of having special ingredients on hand. With just extra virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar, honey, poppy seeds, and salt, I know that I can always pull what I need out of my pantry and have a dressing ready in no time.
I put this dressing on all kinds of salads. It has a mildly sweet flavor, with just a bit of tangyness from the vinegar.
Healthy Honey Poppy Seed Dressing
yield: 2 cups (ingredients can be halved for a 1 cup yield)
1 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup honey
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
pinch of salt
Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix until thoroughly combined. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
It can’t get much easier than that!
Pour over your favorite salad and enjoy!
That sounds delicious! I wonder if you could add mustard to it?
How long does it keep in the fridge?
I think mustard would work well with it! This has a fairly subtle flavor, so if you wanted a bit more kick it might be just what it needs :). I’ve kept mine in the fridge for a couple of weeks, but it never lasts longer than that, haha!
I’m going to try this!
