The Secret is in the Bag!

Ever wonder how some people make their own bags that look so professional? That look handmade rather than homemade? Do you ever see bags that you know are made out of quilter’s cotton but somehow still have great shape? Well, as the saying goes, it’s what’s inside that counts. Using the proper foundation to construct your bag is extremely important to the outcome of the finished product. The foundation includes what is inside the bag that gives the bag stability and strength. Interfacing and interlining are two of the most important materials to use when making a good foundation for a bag.

U-handbag has written a few superb posts on using different stabilizers for bags which I highly recommend. You can read them here, here, and here. Lisa, the owner of U-handbag, also has a great blog to go along with the shop, U-handblog. You really should check it out, she seems like such a cool person and has such an exciting life. I love reading about her travels and living vicariously through her blog!
