2012 Re-Cap {A Little Late}
Let’s hope that this late-posting of Sew Much Ado’s 2012 re-cap isn’t indicative of things to come for 2013 :). Either way, here are a few highlights from last year…
I started 2012 off with what has become our most popular free pattern, the Infant Peasant Dress. I had recently found out that we were expecting a girl, and took every opportunity to make anything involving pink or ruffles :). Since then, many of you have added pics of your dresses to our Flickr group, and it’s always fun to see new ones come in!
That month we also found out we were moving to Seattle! With three weeks notice and me being close to having a baby, it was a lot of excitement and pretty crazy around our household. Somewhere in there I had my first attempt with Spoonflower, and also shared a free Ruffled Diaper Cover Pattern.
February also brought a fun surprise as my Fabric Flower Valentine Wreath was featured in Mollie Makes Magazine.
Early in the spring I shared a fun Faux Chenille Bunny Tutorial, which now sits on Lola’s dresser.
With my due date approaching and no signs of Lola making her grand appearance any time soon, I was able to finish up the Lola Bea Diaper Bag Pattern a few days before I was due.
And then my due date came… and went. My own sweet Lola Bea arrived eight days late, and perfect in every way.
Along with the influx of girly projects, I shared how to make Self-binding Receiving Blankets. Lola is napping in this blanket at this very moment :).
Of course, more little dresses had to be made…
And the Baby Bjorn needed a new cover.
From the time I had orginally posted the free Infant Peasant Dress Pattern, I received many emails requesting a multi-sized pattern. I decided to buckle down, and last summer finally released the Polly Peasant Dress & Blouse Pattern. I wanted to make sure it was worth purchasing, and included 10 sizes, dress and blouse options, and also a scalloped hem option. Thank you to all who’ve helped make this pattern such a success! I’ve used the pattern countless times myself now, and am working on a new dress pattern to help curb my addiction :).
Sew MORE -hahahah, we’ll see how far into the year it keeps up. Also to tackle things that seem too hard or that I’ve been avoiding(because they seem too hard ;op)
Wow. You should really congrad yourself on a year really well done … all this on top of being pregnant and then having the baby! Love all your projects. Happy new year to you and your family!
I am so excited to use your pattern this year! It is really so cute. Your ruched tree skirt is super fantastic too. What a great year. I can’t wait to see what you have planned for 2013!
Lovely projects and so sweet photos!Happy Year to you and your fabulous family!
