On Saturday morning, we awoke to this outside our window…
It was the first real snow of the season, which somehow automatically makes me want to stay indoors and bake. I can’t even remember the last time I made a loaf of bread (and I’ve never been that great at making it, even when I’ve tried), but the smell of fresh bread on a cold morning was too appealing to resist.
I decided to try a fairly simple whole wheat bread recipe from my Betty Crocker recipe book, and it turned out just as I’d hoped! I know, I’m as surprised as you are, haha!
It was the perfect lunch for a chilly day.
Luckily, the recipe made two loaves. The first was eaten entirely for lunch, mostly thanks to me (another reason why I don’t bake as often as I used to). Really though, is there anything better than fresh bread with butter and honey on it?
Nope, there isn’t :). Happy Monday and thanks for reading!
no there is not!! yummy
That looks delicious!
Looks absolutely yummy!
that bread looks delicious! did I miss the recipe link? could I have one? ;)
The bread looks super yummy.
But I definitely don’t envy your snow. :)
Fresh bread is the best! I can never let it sit long enough to be cut smoothly and I just break off chunks of piping hot bread and drag it through the butter dish!
What a little cutie! Wish I had such a cute model for my pumpkin pie! :-)
I think I just heard my tummy growl. And I slobbered on my keyboard too. ;)
i recently made whole wheat bread…will be writing a guest post for someone I know about it.
Yes, The bread was fairly easy!
Yum! How do you get the slices so perfect?
